Google Sniper by George Brown launched October 15 of this year and has been a resounding success. It is a complete system for making money online by building mini-sites. Google Sniper is great, but it’s not perfect. There’s one critical area that George chooses to skip over, but this article fills in the gap.
The foundation of Google Sniper involves picking low competition keywords, creating highly themed content with excellent on-page optimization, and pre-selling your visitors with a review or story. As mentioned in my Google Sniper review, George goes into a great deal of detail on each of these topics. The only issue is that if you mess up on your keyword selection, you’re not getting on the first page of Google without some link building.
Whether you’re new or old to internet marketing, I’m sure you know its not always that easy to find these keyword gems. If you make a mistake with the keyword, you’re probably not getting first page of Google, or any sales for that matter.
How can we recover from this mistake?
Well, standard SEO doctrine says it’s link building time. However, due to George’s aversion to link building, he only discusses this on a cursory level in Google Sniper. As such, adopters of the system may have difficulty finding ideas for building links, so I’ve included a brief primer here.
1. Social Bookmarking: George covers this well in Google Sniper. It is worth noting that most bookmarks do not pass page rank due to the no-follow tag.
2. Link Wheels: This is the process of creating blog posts on various Web 2.0 properties such as Blogger, Weebly, Vox, etc. with links pointing back to your site. They are made into a “wheel” of link juice by linking each property to the next, until finally linking the last property to the first.
3. Profile Links: Pretty much any site that allows users to register accounts will give you a profile page that you can post a link on. Good examples are Bleacher Report and Ikbis.
4. Blog Commenting: Search for blogs related to your site’s content, read them, and make relevant comments linking back to your site using your name. Make sure your comment makes sense in relation to the article, or it will just get deleted.
5. Article Submission: Write high-quality articles and submit them to reputable article directories. You get a resource box at the end of your article where you can put a short bio or a call to action followed by a link to your money site. Not only do you get a backlink out of this, but these articles usually rank well in Google, so you’ll get some traffic out of the deal too.
The 5 techniques above will give you the foundation of link building, which you can use to increase your Google rankings no matter how tough your competition is. Now that you know the basics of linkbuilding, you’ve patched the only leak in the Google Sniper system and you’re ready to go. Get to building those sniper sites and get your slice of the pie!
